Pastor Joe is right.

Let it go. If it is brought back to you, it was meant to be, if not, it wasn't yours to begin with. I'm preaching to myself here... I let go of a couple of things tonight. We'll see what happens. If nothing shows up, then I'll move on. Don't want to waste my time on something that wasn't supposed to be on my path anyway.

I just read a quote from a Rich Mullins song that makes this point pretty well. He says "I'd rather fight you for something I don't really want, than to take what you give that I need".

The point is that our desire is not always (or often) in sync with God's plan for us, either in detail or in timing. So letting go doesn't mean saying goodbye to the idea. It just means resting in what God is doing with you RIGHT NOW and living in faith, that God is going to what He plans and that is best for you always when you rest in His will.
