Just saw The Book of Eli. Great movie. Go see it.
So as I've been thinking, praying, dreaming about this organization I feel the need to begin, I keep thinking about water wells, in Africa. These people have to walk miles to get fresh water every day, if they can get it at all. Building a well in a community is a life changing thing for these people. Well today since I'm wanting to go to help out in Haiti, I checked facebook for any updates on people who may be going and I run into this post from my friend Dee Golden(zing water) who posts a link to his friends who are leaving for Africa to go build wells. I followed the link and what do you know, it's an organization that builds wells, led by two women! www.wellawareworld.org
I don't believe in coincidences. I immediately sent him a message to hook me up with them when they return. How cool would it be to gain some actual experience with a successful nonprofit doing exactly what I want to do?
