Whom shall I send ?
Who will go for me ?
To the ends of the earth
Who will rise up for the King ?
Here am I, send me !

letting go
It's not about me, it's about multiplying my life to affect millions of others. You can't do that if you're inward focused. My wants or desires fulfilled would only satisfy me, and would only be temporary, but letting go of that and letting God use me to reach the world is a much better use of a life. Don't you think?
I do.
I do.
weekend
I enjoyed meeting and chatting with Joel A'Bell from Sydney this weekend. He's a really cool guy. We talked about guns and tornados and how there's a team of about 20 preachers at his campus that share the 8 weekend services and you never know who's going to be preaching which service. Pretty cool. While we were talking Saturday night his wife was preaching the Sunday morning message back in Australia and his friend was letting him listen on his phone, so he let me listen for a minute. He was so excited. He preached a totally different message saturday night than he did for sundays services. Both were fabulous. He said he felt God had a different message for each crowd.

shooting
So apparently (according to the guys, who were very impressed) I out shot both men at long range (15 yards) :-) Guess I have skills I didn't know about.
At short range we were pretty much the same.
Note to ladies - don't wear a tank top when shooting Monarch ammo. The casings don't fly very far and one of mine flew down my shirt and burned my boob!

a thought
Life never turns out the way we expect it to, right? So why do we continue to expect our life to go a certain way? All the planning, preparing, etc.. we do for tomorrow could be completely useless cause tomorrow could go a completely different direction. And it likely will.
I'm off to work then class, but I'll leave you with a quote for today.
I value the friend who for me finds time on his calendar but I cherish the friend who for me does not consult his calendar.

weird
So it looks like I get to go shooting Saturday. And Josh is bringing a whole gaggle of guys along. Not sure why or what the great appeal is, but guys with guns are everywhere. People who I would never have expected, own them, and now want to come shoot with me. Crazy.
I hope I'm decent at it, and don't just get knocked over and laughed at.
Ok, I gotta go get my shots then go to work... See you all at church tonight :-)
GO SPURS GO!!

Be Very Afraid
*no mom, it's not loaded in this picture
So I've been kinda wanting a gun for a while now. Probably since my mom got one. Josh and I talked about it some, but nothing really came of it. Apparently, he has been researching what to get. So yesterday he comes home and surprises me big time! I love surprises. He pulls this out and he said the look on my face was priceless. I bet it was. Now I'm the proud owner of a Smith and Wesson 9mm. I just need to be trained on how to use it now...

Steve Jobs
If you have the time I highly recommend reading Steve Jobs' commencement address a few years ago to college graduates. It's good stuff.

public lewdness on aisle 7
So the other day my husband was laughing hysterically at something I had said in the shampoo aisle of HEB. He was actually squatting down on the floor in hysterics so I decided to do what any decent wife would do and knock him over. And since he was now laying on the floor laughing, I decided to jump up on top of him and hold him down. Since that wasn't enough to shut him up I proceeded to lay down on top of him and start kissing him. That shut him up. Temporarily. I believe the next words out of his mouth were "woman, you're gonna get us arrested!"

who's doing it?
Somebody out there is praying for me, ALOT. God is restoring my joy this week. I have been begging for that for months now. I just found myself dancing to a Cutting Crew song from the 80's while making spaghetti. I dance when I am happy. God is so big. Whoever the culprit is, don't stop!

today
I was up at church from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm, only leaving once to pick up lunch. I worked both english services at the desk, then went to spanish church, then we had G1 (about 150 people served), then went to the end of the agents/leaders in action meeting. Despite having a sore butt(i think from wearing high heels for half a day, but not sure...)and tired feet, I had a really fun day. Had a few really good conversations with some cool people. Met some cool new people, and had some good laughs. It's fun to serve. If you aren't involved, I encourage you to get involved, it's good for you.

help
Tonight I was asked if I was an independent person - I obviously answered yes. Duh. I then was told that that has to go away to do my job effectively. I am fiercely independent and value that AND my freedom. Is it worth it to give it up and join the fold to contribute to the bigger picture? Will I lose the spark and passion and uniqueness that comes with being your own boss? Do I really want that? Is it a sacrifice I'm willing to make? Am I really supposed to?

friday
So about 1:30 this morning the India team text messages me needing some information; of course I was almost asleep, but out of pure curiosity had to get up to see who it was. Then had a hard time getting back to sleep mode, then a few hours later the storm woke me up. I'm tired now.
Had lunch with my mother and brother and sister in law today. Up at church we weren't very productive because the lightning killed the internet connection up there for most of the day.
Think I'm gonna go read this phonebook sized textbook my boss is having me read and maybe it will put me to sleep. I'll send Josh to go collect the girls from their various friday night activities...
We have another vb tournament at 7:20 am tomorrow. Thankfully it's the 2nd to last one of the season.

friends
Our church is getting so big, and our time is getting so short. I think now is the time to start building those family relationships we all keep putting off. I know we are all busy, but we need each other. God put us around other people for a reason. We have to have a sense of community or we can get really isolated in our busyness. We absolutely must make it a priority to keep relationship with one another. I think we're failing miserably in this area. I need people around me right now. I need to surround myself with people who believe in my dreams who can share my struggles and help carry my burden. I want to be that person for you too.

"We made it! Right now on our way to church & I'm crying as beggars hold their children up to beat on the windows that they purposely maim at birth to get money. They go from one side to the other. Went shopping in a market - tell pastor Joe there ain't no Nordstrom's!!

I made it through my driving probation of 3 months with no speeding tickets! This means I get that last one dismissed that I went to court and fought. Remember? Yay for me!
