?

So do you believe that God has one true path for us, and if we were to ever find it and not stray, we could carry out all that God had laid out for us in our life? Sure there would be trials so we could grow and rely on Him, but it seems like there would always be perfect peace and joy there... Cause that was the plan He had for us when we were born. Only along the way each little decision we make that wasn't quite right caused us to divert from it just a little bit, but over the years you're so far from where you started, that it seems He would have to hit a giant cosmic restart button somewhere to get you going in the right direction. On the other hand, He knows all the stupid choices we're going to make and probably accounts for them even in the grand plan, right? So in that case, why would you struggle with bad choices, and not just let them happen and just trust that He is in control. It doesn't work that way does it. When you're not where you're supposed to be it's like you're in this dense fog and you see your life from the outside looking in. Almost in slow motion, but you don't know how to get back in or where you'd steer yourself if you could. It's like you're standing still amidst the chaos of life all around you, and no one sees you standing there. Everyone is so busy with their own existence and troubles to stop and point you in the right direction. You're lost and you look up and beg for Him to come and rescue you, but all the while knowing you got yourself where you are and He wants you to find your own way out. You beg for help and are met with silence. You feel unable to beg further because of your unworthiness. Sure your sins are forgiven, but that doesn't mean they don't cost anything. He pays the price - but it does cost us something. Distance.

it's wednesday

The lake was fun - but I am very sore. Being pulled behind a fast moving boat on a tube uses more muscles than it appears to...
We had the Vogel clan over for dinner last night, and we started talking about/planning our upcoming road trip to move these guys. I think everyone's getting pretty excited..
I can't wait to lay in Central Park in the grassy field and look up at the leaves just starting to change color, and the cool breezes of fall rolling in... it's gonna be awesome!

Sunday

Just got home from the back to school bash on the hill. I'm exhausted. Excited about going to the lake tomorrow with the Banglesdorf clan.
Then, in a few weeks, NEW YORK, DC, BOSTON, and everything in between. ROAD TRIP!! We've been wanting to do a New England tour, and moving our friends is the perfect excuse..

brought low

I am exhausted. Spent the last 2 days delivering The Coffee News to over 100 restaurants in downtown Austin, UT campus area and northwest Austin. Welcome to my new temporary job. Yuck! It is very humbling; and probably just where I need to be right now. Off my high horse for a while. Until God shows me where to go from here.
Now I must go shower and get the grime off so we can go to dinner at our South African friends' house :-)

for all seeking wisdom

Proverbs
13
How blessed is the man who finds wisdom
And the man who gains understanding.
14For her profit is better than the profit of silver
And her gain better than fine gold.
15She is more precious than jewels;
And nothing you desire compares with her.
16Long life is in her right hand;
In her left hand are riches and honor.
17Her ways are pleasant ways
And all her paths are peace.
18She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her,
And happy are all who hold her fast.
19The LORD by wisdom founded the earth,
By understanding He established the heavens.
20By His knowledge the deeps were broken up
And the skies drip with dew.
21My son, let them not vanish from your sight;
Keep sound wisdom and discretion,
22So they will be life to your soul
And adornment to your neck.
23Then you will walk in your way securely
And your foot will not stumble.
24When you lie down, you will not be afraid;
When you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

and if you are wondering how to get wisdom - proverbs 2:6 says "For The Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding."

blah

Just got home for the day. After church we went to Josh's parents for a great lunch. I'm ready for some comfy clothes and my blankie, and some movies this evening.
Today was just so sad for me. I had just quit all my other ministries to focus on missions and now I have nothing to do on Sunday mornings. I don't want to go back to any of the old, and it's apparently not time for the new. I am stuck in nothingness. Don't know where I belong.
My relationships seem to be changing as well. 2 of my dear friends are moving away. I feel very alone...

hm

Costa Rica was good. Satan did not want us to go. After a rough coupla weeks I left America very discouraged and wanting to just disappear in Costa Rica, but God gave the right words to the right people to pick me back up while I was there. So I came home excited to get started with missions again, confident I would find a part time job that would work around it. Only to be disappointed yet again. I won't go into detail, only say that I won't be very busy up at church anymore. Guess that leaves more time for a day job, huh? My heart is broken, I feel completely lost, and don't know where I belong anymore. Just when I thought I had started to figure it out. Sometimes I wonder if I even know what THE path looks like, since I must not be on it.

quote

"The world bursts at the seams with people ready to tell you
you're not good enough. On occasion, some may be correct.
But do not do their work for them. Seek any job; ask anyone out;
pursue any goal. Don't take it personally when they say 'no' -
they may not be smart enough to say 'yes.'" - Keith Olbermann

thanks Jake for sending that one to me - it's very timely
